The resolution is an inadvertently poetic, vaguely jazz-like testament to Brubeck's contributions to American life: On April 21, 2010, just months after being honored at the Kennedy Center, the House passed H. This has nothing to do with media, but it has something to do with politics: The Dave Brubeck Quartet performed at State Dinners during the Johnson and Reagan administrations, and even accompanied President Reagan to Moscow to perform at the Reagan-Gorbachev Summit in 1988. Dave Brubeck, the legendary jazz pianist, died of heart failure today at the age of 91, one day short of his 92nd birthday. ![]()
